How to UPGRADE the "VALUE LINE" Version of RBII to RB3D.
The next trick is for those of you who may have bought the Red Baron "2" game,
and wish to upgrade it with the Super patch to RB3D.
These are the instructions to get your game to work that way.
1) Open the
Registry Editor (run 'regedit')
2) Expand 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'
3) Expand 'Software'
4) Expand 'Sierra On-Line'
5) Expand 'Red Baron 2'
6) Create a new key off of Sierra On-Line called 'Red Baron II'
7) Copy, word for word, every string in 'Red Baron 2' into 'Red Baron II'.
There is 'cddir', 'workdir', 'version' and another key named the same as the
entry for 'version'.
8) Close the Registry Editor.
9) Run the Super Patch.

XP sound batch files
Hey guys,
Im sure this is old news to most of you, but I remembered that I heard that USB
sticks only worked the first time with RB3D, then you lost sound.
Well I picked up a Cyborg 3D gold the other day and now I have the problem too.
So I was just screwing around a wrote two batch files to fix it, one for single
play one for multiplay. The batchfile just deletes the .dat thats causing the
problem, then calls the baron.exe, or baronmmp.exe.
Anyway no big deal heres the text for anyone who hasnt fixed this long ago. Just
make sure you edit the sixth line with your correct path.
And dont forget to change your RB3D shortcut from baron.exe/baronmmp.exe to the
batchfiles.
For single play:
@echo off
cd data
del rbprefs.dat
cd multi
del mpprefs.dat
call e:\SIERRA\RedBaron3D\Baron.exe
quit
For mulitplay:
@echo off
cd data
del rbprefs.dat
cd multi
del mpprefs.dat
call e:\SIERRA\RedBaron3D\Baronmmp.exe
quit

Win Xp Sound fix
The absolute easiest way to get the sound back is to pull your JS from its USB port before you start RB. Then start it, go into the server selection screen, choose your server and plug your JS back into the port before you enter the server. You are then OK for your entire sessions even if you change servers. If you shut down RB for any reason you have to do it again. If you have a couple of front panel USB ports this is the easiest way.
Hope this helps.

Multiple Monitors Gforce and Voodoo
Q: "I have multiple monitors & a Geoforce card & Voodoo. It works fine, but
when I exit RB, the game is "stuck" to the Voodoo's monitor & won't come off
unless I resize the desktop for that monitor, which is a royal pain. Is there a
fix?"
A: Yep! <g>
Most computers do not allocate ROM support to your PCI Voodoo Card, and this could be one of the reasons your having difficulties. An easy work around for this is as follows:
1. Power down your computer & unplug it from the electric.
2. Unplug any monitors you may have plugged in as well.
3. Swap monitors so that the monitor attached to the Voodoo Card is going to be the one you use most often.
4. Hook the monitors back up & plug everything back in.
5. Boot the machine.
6. Open your computer's CMOS.
7. Under hardware, set your PCI Voodoo as the primary card. WARNING: If you don't know what your doing, GET A PROFESSIONAL. Serious dmage could result if you inadvertantly mess something up!
8. Reboot, saving the CMOS changes.
9. Allow Windows to detect everything.
Now, RB's menu *AND* gameplay are on the same screen, and no hangups or lockups occur!

Roll over bug
This is caused by you having to high Frames Per Second FPS alt F.
A good FPS to have and not have the roll over bug would be in the 60-70 range anything higher doesn't affect your game anyway.
Fix Max out all details and graphics. If this isn't enough change screen size and resolution until FPS is flyable.
